As a vital member of our rehabilitation team, the Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients with neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory conditions through various physical and mechanical techniques. The primary goal is to restore functionality affected by injury or illness, manage pain, and enhance mobility and overall health in accordance with medical directives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough evaluations and create tailored treatment plans for each patient.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Mexico and BLS certification required.
  • Skills: Strong accountability, assessment capabilities, decision-making skills, and effective time management. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Supervision:
  • Reports to the Director/Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
Work Environment:
  • Operates in a clean, well-ventilated, and smoke-free environment.
  • May encounter communicable diseases, challenging patient interactions, and hazardous materials.
  • Subject to high-stress professional relationships.
Physical Demands:
  • Must maintain good physical health.
  • Required to stand, walk extensively, and lift, position, and transfer patients. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of equipment and supplies.
  • Potential for strains from handling heavy patients and equipment.
