Position Overview:
As a vital member of the surgical team, the Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position operates under the guidance of the Surgical Services Director and the Chief of Anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare for surgical procedures by gathering necessary supplies and assisting during the operation.
- Conduct post-procedure clean-up and ensure the operating room is ready for subsequent cases.
- Manage the ordering and inventory of anesthesia supplies in a cost-effective manner.

Essential Duties:
- Accurately order, retrieve, and stock medications within the anesthesia carts, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Perform regular inspections of medications to prevent expiration and ensure patient safety.
- Assist in patient care activities under the supervision of Anesthesiologists and Registered Nurses.
- Maintain and sanitize all anesthesia equipment in accordance with infection control standards and manufacturer guidelines.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician is preferred.
- Certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians is preferred.
- An EMT license is also preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of universal precautions when interacting with patients and handling equipment.
- Ability to engage in educational activities to share departmental knowledge with others.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain inventory and ensure cleanliness in the anesthesia supply room and operating rooms.
