Job Overview

Position: Geriatric Nursing Specialist - $59.90/hour

Location: Yuma, Arizona

This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care, treatment, and services for elderly patients in a professional manner, adhering to the scope of practice and following physician directives.

This is a contract position requiring 36 hours per week, with shifts lasting 12 hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and clean environment for patients.
  • Delegate and supervise the responsibilities of junior staff members.
  • Provide diverse nursing care for elderly Veterans/Members.
  • Educate junior staff on specific clinical care practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients' behavior and physical health.
  • Administer medical treatments and interventions as per the care plan.
  • Lead or provide limited supervision during assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of gerontological nursing principles and practices.
  • Possession of a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Arizona.
