Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Sonographer (Pool) to join our team at Bayfront Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with radiologists to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
- Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintain a demeanor that is complimentary to quality care.
- Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
- Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
- Adhere to Bayfront Health's mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
- Assess the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
- Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient clinical history, and assure that the information is accurately documented.
- Position patients, equipment, associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
- Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
- Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
- Administer medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
- Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
- Assist in supervision of student sonographers.
- Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Ensure the safety of all customers.
- Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Bayfront Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintain compliance with all Bayfront Health policies and procedures.
- Follow established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
- Maintain well-stocked and organized work areas.
- May be required to work at any facility.
- Provide patient transport.
- Education/Training: Associate's in applied science and graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
- Experience: Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, and breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography.
