The Electrical Systems Specialist is a critical role within JM Family Enterprises, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits to identify potential issues.
  • Utilize testing instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, testing lamps, or growlers to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
  • Replace faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
  • Dismantle electrical machinery and replace malfunctioning electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures to maintain equipment efficiency.
  • Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures, and complete circuits according to diagram specifications to ensure accurate installation.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Estimate time and material costs for electrical projects to ensure accurate budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Requisition new electrical supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked inventory.

**Requirements:**

  • Completion of an IEC or JATC apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of field experience following the completion of the apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an Arc Flash Certification to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance electrician or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and wiring methods.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and testing instruments for electrical work, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-developed knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring methods, with the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Exemplary troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on resolving complex electrical issues.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
