Avantor is seeking a skilled Maintenance and Reliability Manager to lead the Maintenance & Reliability team. The successful candidate will oversee operating performance, plant maintenance, and equipment management, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the repair and maintenance of site infrastructure, including manufacturing, utilities, distribution, and wastewater treatment.
- Establish key performance metrics, drive productivity, and maintain maintenance equipment records and reports.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance best practices.
- Support the execution of Process Safety Management systems to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Manage contracts for maintenance and repairs, including creating scopes of work, obtaining bids, and ensuring timely completion.
- Ensure safe work practices and compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, and FDA regulations.
- Train and qualify department personnel and contractors.
- Monitor expenses and control the site maintenance budget.
- Identify and maintain critical spare parts.
- Assist with capital project scope, installation, and startup.
- Direct supervisors in establishing and maintaining maintenance schedules.
- Manage the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five years of applicable experience in maintenance or equipment repair, preferably in manufacturing or chemical industries.
- Experience managing Union staff, administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements, and labor relations.
- In-depth knowledge of industry and regulatory standards.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis, process improvement methods, maintenance management systems, and OSHA PSM.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including cGMP's, EPA, OSHA, DEA, DOT, and local guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, team and collaborative abilities, and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects to timely completion.
- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and plant support systems.
