About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. HVAC Technician to join our team at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing environmental-control systems in various commercial establishments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mount compressor and condenser units on platforms or floors, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
  • Install evaporator units in chassis or air-duct systems, using hand tools.
  • Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools.
  • Join tubing or pipes to refrigerating units, using sleeves, couplings, or unions, and solder joints, using a torch.
  • Install expansion and discharge valves in circuits.
  • Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power sources.
  • Install air and water filters in completed installations.
  • Test systems and add freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure.
  • Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure proper operation.
  • Test joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap-and-water solutions.
  • Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands.
  • Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment.
Requirements
  • Minimum - High school or equivalent.
  • Minimum - Two years prior experience in HVAC repair/maintenance.
  • Minimum - Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Minimum - Valid Driver's License.
  • Journeyman HVAC Mechanic - Duval County License.
  • Universal EPA Certification (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F).
