About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Consulting team in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will lead and support electrical engineering in offshore/onshore oil and gas and wind/solar projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering in offshore/onshore oil and gas and wind/solar projects during concept, pre-FEED, with a focus on the electrical architecture of the project including offshore/onshore substations, power cables.
  • Coordinate detailed design phases for all aspects of electrical engineering work.
  • Participate in Electrical discipline activities including preparation and checking of documents, philosophies, specifications, procedures, standards, data sheets, calculations, MTO, etc.
  • Coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering.
  • PE license preferable.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in the electrical design of institutional buildings, industrial plants, commercial or residential, or renewable resource farms is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in renewable power including power studies.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for electrical distribution systems including the selection of equipment (transformers, metal clad switchgear), materials, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
  • Three or more years of experience in leading an engineering design team through all phases of a project design.
  • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design.
  • Experience with creating construction work package designs, scheduling, and construction services.
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings/documents created by others.
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation design experience.
  • Strong written and communication skills are essential.
