Job Description

Our client, a leading Engineering Design and Commissioning Company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join their team. As a key member of their commissioning team, you will be responsible for executing onsite commissioning plans, providing and gathering specifications, and executing assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily commissioning activity meetings to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and implement commissioning test procedures and reports, as well as comprehensive commissioning documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projects.
  • Write comprehensive reports, including recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, lists of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.
  • Conduct integrated system testing, load bank testing, and compile testing procedure results.
  • Develop and administer functional tests for various systems, such as electrical distribution systems, UPS, standby generators, etc.
  • System assembly, commission plan preparation, and adherence to company QC processes and procedures.
  • Lead and manage external resources, schedule and direct periodic commissioning meetings, and attend construction and coordination meetings as required.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and owners' agents as needed.
  • Execute project assignments, interact with project contractors, vendors, and testing technicians, and engage with all facets of the company, including engineering and design.
  • Verify results of test reports and assist with field troubleshooting of commissioned equipment as needed.
Requirements:
  • 4-10+ years of experience with electrical power systems.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering (a plus).
  • Experience commissioning enterprise data centers, colos, and hyperscale companies.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A/E experience working in complex facilities or mission-critical projects (a big plus).
  • Previous data center/mission-critical experience (a must).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (heavy writing, documentation, and client interaction).
  • Electrical equipment testing experience in a critical facilities/facility environment.
  • Previous experience conducting Level 1-5 commissioning.
  • Possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
  • Previous military experience (Navy Nukes, Seabees, Maritime, etc.) (a plus).
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
