Overview:
Oversee all building systems and infrastructure to guarantee the safety of guests, staff, and vendors.
Ensure adherence to company engineering standards, preventative maintenance protocols, and compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
Strive for energy efficiency within the building complex while continuously seeking methods to reduce energy consumption.Responsibilities:
Take charge of the Engineering Department in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of all building systems and equipment, including Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Life Safety, IT, and more.
Adhere to company preventative maintenance guidelines for guest rooms, equipment, public areas, and the building's exterior.
Maintain accurate financial records for the engineering department to ensure operations remain within budget while keeping necessary supplies stocked.
Effectively supervise and assign tasks to engineering personnel to maximize productivity.
Manage engineering documentation to support budgets, maintenance programs, capital projects, and safety inspections.
Conduct daily tours of the hotel to identify maintenance needs and coordinate with other departments as required.
Serve as the property expert on Life Safety matters, providing training to management in these areas.
Understand brand-related issues and procedures, ensuring compliance with all tracking and resolution protocols.
Familiarity with PC operations and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
Maintain composure in high-pressure situations and be recognized as a strong leader throughout the hotel.
Adhere to attendance policies and be available for regular work shifts.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A college degree or relevant coursework is advantageous, preferably in engineering.
Vocational training, military experience, certifications, or practical experience in building trades such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry is required.
Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing strategies, safety programs, personnel management, business planning, maintenance, budgeting, quality assurance, and hospitality law.
Proficiency in various skills such as HVAC, electrical work, carpentry, drywall installation, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping is essential.
ADA Related Physical Demands:
Frequent walking, climbing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in varying environmental conditions.
Demonstrated leadership abilities to motivate and develop staff while achieving organizational goals. Capable of prioritizing, planning, organizing, and delegating tasks effectively.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences.
