Qualifications Required
- A high school diploma is essential.
- Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant Program is mandatory.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant through recognized bodies must be obtained within two years of program completion.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant surgical assisting experience is required.
- Possession of certifications such as CST from the AST Association of Surgical Technologists is preferred.
