Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

QED Enterprises Inc is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will be responsible for supporting Health and Safety operations at a federal government facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hazard assessments and develop safety plans to mitigate risks
  • Investigate incidents and identify root causes to implement corrective actions
  • Evaluate working conditions and recommend improvements to safety and health methods, practices, and procedures
  • Provide health and safety training to employees and management
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
  • Collaborate with site management, operations, and project/maintenance teams to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health and safety-related field or minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role
  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies and experience with developing and auditing policies and procedures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work flexible shifts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience with developing and providing health and safety training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess a BCSP or CSP certification and experience with Safety Management Systems
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or industrial settings and ability to work in dynamic climate conditions
