Bakery Apprentice

Job Title:
We are seeking a skilled Bakery Apprentice to join our team at La Michoacana Meat Market.

Job Summary:
As a Bakery Apprentice, you will assist our experienced bakers in the preparation of traditional Mexican bread and pastries. You will be responsible for updating labels and product prices, cleaning the work area and equipment, and maintaining the display cases. You will also assist with preparing baking ovens, using equipment under supervision, and making various baked goods.

• Perform any other task assigned by the store manager.

Requirements:
• Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to write notes, instructions, orders, invoices, and descriptions of cake orders.
• 1 year experience in the preparation of Mexican bakery.
• Basic knowledge in the variety and styles of Mexican bread.
• Ability to read and write at a basic level in English and Spanish.
• Conversational Spanish.
• Graduation from high school or GED (preferred).

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to flex, kneel, bend, and stoop.
