Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of prescription dispensing, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including the operation of pharmacy systems, processing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with patients and resolving any issues or concerns they may have.
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, adhering to Walgreens' service standards.
  • Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers, identifying their needs and providing personalized support.
  • Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, adhering to state, federal, and company policies.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, and verifying medicine.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist and support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data.
Requirements
  • PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access information on-line).
  • Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
