Assistant Director of Development

The College of Charleston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Athletic Administration team as an Assistant Director of Development. This key role will focus on generating financial support for the CofC Athletic Fund, including the Cougar Club Annual Fund, Sport Specific Donations, and Special Event Fundraisers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of donors to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts that align with the Athletic Department's strategies and objectives.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Athletic Director for Development to fulfill donor benefits, including premium seating, parking, hospitality, and membership services.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to increase revenue and support the College of Charleston's athletic programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, prospects, fans, and the public to ensure exceptional customer service and donor satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; a Master's degree is preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in collegiate athletic development or a related field; candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven history of building lasting relationships with donors, prospects, fans, and the public.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ensuring the highest quality of customer service via phone, email, and in-person.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fundraising principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
