Radiation Protection Specialist

BHI Energy, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Protection Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Health Physics Technician, you will be responsible for evaluating radiological conditions in a workplace environment and implementing controls to maintain radiation exposures as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). You will work closely with our team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.

• Monitor radiological conditions and record conditions to evaluate potential risks to workers and the public.
• Oversee work involving radioactive materials and utilize special instrumentation to analyze and track radioactive materials.
• Establish safe means and testing cycles for radioactive material, including collection, storage, packaging, transportation, and disposal.
• Collect and analyze radiological samples and serve as a technical subject matter expert for Radiation Protection.
• Immediately notify Supervision and prepare documentation of any safety or nuclear safety concerns.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, including chemistry and mathematics courses.
• Ability to pass knowledge exams and performance evaluations administered through the EPRI process.
• Meet the requirements of one of the following standards: ANSI N, ANSI/ANS, ANSI/ANS, or ANSI/ANS.
