Role Overview
The Category Analyst is responsible for analyzing data, offering insights based on findings, and implementing strategies that align with departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Giant's high-performing teams and external partners
    • Engage cross-functionally with departments such as Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Pricing Strategy, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations.
    • Foster relationships with Giant's vendor community to formulate sales strategies.
  • Develop a unique, customer-focused product assortment.
  • Deliver data-driven insights to pinpoint critical opportunities that yield significant conclusions.
  • Design impactful omnichannel promotions to showcase Giant's featured products.
  • Anticipate promotional activities and align them with the departmental budget.
  • Gather and relay insights to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of analytical experience in retail or Consumer Packaged Goods.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in analyzing complex data sets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Negotiation skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with syndicated/competitive data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) is preferred.
