About the Opportunity

RightWorks Inc is seeking a Tax Director to join their San Jose, California office.

This leadership role will work under the direction of our Tax Partners to prepare tax returns for clients in various industries.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations
• Client service: ensure engagement assignments are completed within budgeted time
• Manage: assumes responsibility for larger tax returns and delegate tasks to tax preparers as necessary
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning efforts to assist the audit and assurance team with larger clients
• Delegate and manage governmental tax examinations; represent the client before the appropriate taxing authorities if needed
• Mentor: supervise and train staff by assisting in recruiting, performance evaluations, development training aids, and acting as an instructor in professional development programs
• Ensure accurate and timely billing and collection processes are made

Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Accounting; advanced degree preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in public accounting; 2 years supervisory experience
• 2 years of experience representing clients before tax authorities
• Valid CPA license required

• Competitive Compensation: $180,000 - $225,000 plus bonus
