FLSA Status: Exempt
A Speech/Language Pathologist is responsible for identifying, assessing, and diagnosing students with communication disorders. The ideal candidate will develop and implement treatment plans to minimize the adverse impact on student success.
- Assess students' communication skills to identify communication disorders and develop treatment plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide services and communicate information.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and treatment plans to meet students' needs.
- Provide speech and language therapy to students to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders.
- Research and implement evidence-based practices to address students' needs.
- Maintain accurate records and files to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Master's Degree with Virginia License in Speech/Language Pathology.
- ASHA certification.
- Previous teaching and/or speech/language pathology experience preferred.
- Eligibility to participate in school-based Medicaid billing.
Duties are performed in all school settings, including classrooms, gyms, and auditoriums. Frequent walking, standing, and light lifting are required. Daily personal and close contact with children is necessary.
