The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) is responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care by utilizing the Nursing Process for individuals frequently treated in the emergency department. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise, sound nursing judgment, effective teaching abilities, and a dedication to enhancing patient care quality. The ER RN independently executes both general and unit-specific clinical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, administer treatments, and provide nursing care tailored to the diverse age groups of patients.
- Exhibit proficiency in gathering and interpreting patient information to meet their specific needs.
- Possess a thorough understanding of growth and development principles, along with the necessary treatment modalities for various patient demographics.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California is required.
- MICN Certification is mandatory or must be obtained within one year of employment.
- A minimum of one year of RN experience in an Acute Care Setting is essential.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be maintained.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification is required or must be acquired within one year of hire.
- Recent RN experience in the Emergency Department within the last two years is necessary.
