Key Responsibilities
  • Assess student needs and abilities, and develop lesson plans for a self-contained classroom.
  • Create developmentally sound and appropriate Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives.
  • Prepare daily schedules and lesson plans aligned to New York State Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core Standards.
  • Participate in review meetings and update IEPs as needed.
Requirements
  • BA or MA and New York State Certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities Grades B-2 or All Grades) required.
  • Experience in autism preferred.
