Job Title: Fabrication Supervisor

At Knapheide Manufacturing, we are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling activities of workers engaged in the fabrication of parts/units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all quality processes are used in the manufacturing of products, maintaining the highest standards of quality and excellence.
  • Safety and Work-Rules: Enforce all safety and work-rule guidelines, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Interpret and understand necessary reports such as productivity, efficiency, bill of materials, etc., to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Shop Order Management: Manage shop orders in an effective manner, ensuring timely completion and meeting customer expectations.
  • Project Setup and Implementation: Lead the setup of new projects, focusing on improving safety, quality, and productivity within the department.
Requirements:
  • Fabrication Background: Must have fabrication background in equipment like or similar to equipment used in the Knapheide Fabrication department.
  • Blueprint Reading: Excellent ability to read all blueprints used by the Fabrication department.
  • Computer and AS400 Skills: Basic computer and AS400 system skills required.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead teams, manage people in a positive manner, and achieve operating results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate effective involvement in a continuous improvement environment and be willing to further education through additional training courses as provided.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Physical Demands: Must have the ability to move up and down the line and into work stations, with lifting up to 50 lbs being routine.
  • Mental Demands: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other reports, with good communication skills required.
