Robotics Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Technician to join our team at Wyman-Gordon, a leading manufacturer of complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, and forged components for the aerospace and energy markets.

• Install, alter, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer, control, and robotics/automation equipment, systems, and components in a complex Center of Excellence machining center.
• Operate within specified quality/quantity limits and follow work processes closely to ensure a safe environment.
• Monitor and replenish component inventories, ensure safety guards are in position and functional, and maintain equipment logs for each piece of equipment.
• Exercise mechanical capabilities and knowledge of proper use of tools, troubleshooting, and set up procedures, and machine blueprint reading.
• Repair equipment within their capability and report major problems to supervisor, and assist the Maintenance Department in major repairs.

• Three to five years of experience as a Robotics Technician.
• Associates Degree in Robotics preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, CNC turning, and proficient with hand tools and general workshop equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot input and output devices, identify and communicate to programmers, and perform all physical duties such as heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Strong computer skills, i.e. Excel/Word, and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment and moderate noise.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.

• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
• Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials.
• Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane and work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment and detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
