The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC) is on the lookout for dynamic and dedicated professionals to fill the role of Adjunct Faculty in the Pharmacy Technician program. This institution specializes in offering tuition-free educational programs aimed at empowering underserved adults to acquire essential skills for both academic advancement and workforce entry.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction in various courses within the Pharmacy Technician curriculum. This role involves:
1. Providing classroom education to aspiring pharmacy technicians, preparing them for careers in retail and hospital settings.
2. Demonstrating an understanding of the diverse needs of students and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
3. Offering classes during both daytime and evening hours to accommodate different schedules.
Qualifications:
Required: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited pharmacy program and hold a valid NYS Pharmacist license, accompanied by at least one year of relevant pharmacy experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a related field with certification as a pharmacy technician and a minimum of four years of experience is acceptable. Teaching or training experience of at least one year is also required, along with strong communication skills and the ability to connect with students effectively.
Preferred: Experience in teaching adult learners and working with at-risk populations is highly desirable. Organizational skills and attention to detail are also advantageous.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is competitive, with no additional benefits provided. This role is fully funded through grants.
