Fire Sprinkler Inspector Job Description

Eastern Fire, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team in Auburn, ME. As a Fire Sprinkler Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of satisfaction for our customers by completing inspections in a timely manner and ensuring that customers receive the work as proposed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction.
  • Complete inspections in a timely manner and ensure the customer receives the work as proposed.
  • Utilize an online scheduling calendar to receive scheduled tasks, customer locations, and maintain other company documents.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and review inspection results with customers.
  • Turn in required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and company vehicle in good working order.
  • Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
  • Stay current with code requirements, industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications.
  • Complete in-house and manufacturer training programs on fire protection system inspections.
  • Obtain OSHA 10 certification through company safety programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by department managers.
Requirements:
  • Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision (after training period is completed).
  • Mechanical and math aptitude.
  • Exceptional computer skills.
  • Professional and organized.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection, testing, maintenance, and installation is required.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Valid state driver's license required.
  • NICET certification at Level II Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance is preferred, or ability to immediately obtain based on meeting the minimum work experience requirement.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Industrial, commercial, and residential building environment with moderate to high noise levels, and comfort with working at heights as required.
  • Mostly a physically demanding role. The majority of the daily demand is standing and walking buildings and stairs, some ladder work may be required.
  • May need to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel to multiple job sites in a day, some overnight travel may be required with plenty of notice prior.
  • Ability to be on the phone and computer consistently throughout the day.
