We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team, responsible for maintaining accurate billing data and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, assigning and providing medical codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Compile, abstract, and maintain patient medical records to document condition and treatment for surgeries.
- Identify, compile, and code patient data using ICD-10 and CPT classification coding systems.
- Research and resolve problems with patient accounts in work queues.
- Assist physicians and providers on coding questions or concerns.
- Facilitate conversation and work as a liaison between CBO, Compliance, and physician to resolve documentation and billing concerns.
- Serve as a resource for other Business Office staff.
- Support compliance policies with government and private payer regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
Requirements:
- One (1) year or more of experience working in the office of a healthcare-related facility.
- Experience using a PC in a Windows environment.
- Experience working with ICD-10 and CPT coding, medical terminology.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with procedural and diagnostic coding.
- Familiarity with ICD and CPT coding methodology.
- Knowledge of medical insurance, collections, and appointments.
- Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8a - 5p.
