About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Controls Engineer to join our Aftermarket and Service team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, testing, servicing, and repairing complex equipment to meet company operating specifications and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement complete building automation systems, including specification and sizing of controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware.
  • Create sequences of operation for the control of all building systems and document the BAS design.
  • Configure and program control algorithms, including third-party integration, and develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.
  • Test and commission complex building systems, such as chiller plants and large integrations, and set up and execute factory witness tests for projects that require them.
  • Document the building automation system that incorporates all changes made since issuance of the submittal.
  • Provide technical support during the selling process to ensure that sales representatives accurately address customer requirements and propose the best possible solutions.
  • Mentor and develop other Application Engineers and identify and communicate project opportunities and risks related to cost, time, and technical considerations.
  • Timely create requests for information that are clear, concise, and well-written and maintain and advise on customer and company design and programming standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be willing to join the union or be part of the Union
  • Possess and maintain valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
  • 5+ years of Commercial HVAC experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the HVAC controls industry and Electrical and Mechanical Building systems with experience in BAS software and associated engineering tools (I-VU CCN preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or Technical School certification in the HVAC industry
  • Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines
  • Field experience and a complete understanding of the installation and operation of I-VU CCN Controls and knowledge and understanding of third-party control systems and integrations
