About the Role

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. As a key member of our Power and Cooling Service Provider program, you will play a critical role in supporting a mission-critical customer by assisting with the modernization and modeling of new and existing electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering teams in completing engineering calculations and analyses, maintaining and submitting reports on complex assignments.
  • Provide technical input during events that affect the performance of critical mission systems and provide feedback regarding the operation and condition of electrical infrastructure.
  • Analyze load flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies, and work with the campus model team personnel and field resources to conduct surveys and gather critical information for analysis.
  • Utilize ETAP software to model and simulate electrical infrastructure, maintain an engineering technical library, and provide coordination assistance with protective device selection and coordination.
  • Apply knowledge of codes and standards, including IEEE and IEEE Guide for Performing Arc Flash Hazard Calculations, IEEE 3000 Standards CollectionTM for Industrial & Commercial Power Systems, and practice analytical skills around Low Voltage/Amp Circuit Breakers, Overcurrent Relays, Variable Frequency Drives, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related scientific field, and at least 10 years of electrical engineering/electrical design experience.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility and polygraph.

Compensation and Benefits

This position includes a competitive benefit package and a hiring salary range of $120,000 - $150,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data.
