Job Description

Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital seeks a seasoned Chief Clinical Education Director to lead our education and clinical support efforts. This dynamic leader will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and innovative solutions to advance the delivery of patient care, education, research, and professional practice.

About the Role

This critical position is responsible for fostering a continuous learning environment through needs assessment, program development, implementation, evaluation, and revision. The successful candidate will oversee clinical competency orientation, professional development, compliance, and excellence in ongoing Magnet and DNV standard compliance.

The ideal candidate will lead evidence-based practice initiatives, coordinate nursing research protocols, studies, and outcome dissemination. Additionally, they will oversee other clinical support areas, coordinate agreements and affiliations with university schools of nursing, and ensure training, monitoring, and operations initiatives are implemented to secure compliance with ethical and legal business practices and accreditation/regulatory/government regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Directs, develops, and implements strategic and operational projects and processes.
  • Oversees management of staff to meet quality, service, and cost-effectiveness objectives.
  • Provides timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas needed to accomplish tasks or solve problems.
  • Directs management responsibilities of selection, scheduling, supervision, retention, and evaluation of employees.
  • Meets or exceeds threshold goals for department turnover and/or system metrics on employee engagement indicators.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's and Master's degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Doctorate preferred.
  • Three years' leadership experience, preferably in an education setting.
  • Five years' experience in education or staff development.
  • RN licensure (Texas State Licensure or Compact State Licensure within 60 days).
  • Magnet-L ANCC Recognized Leadership Certification within 6 months.
