Job Summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance functions of our distribution center and hotels. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Manage a team of maintenance personnel, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Maintenance Operations: Oversee the maintenance of all operating equipment, including preventive maintenance schedules, timely responses to critical maintenance issues, and review of facility work requests.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage the maintenance of all required back stock of maintenance supplies, minimizing inventory levels through strong supplier partnerships.
  • Janitorial Services: Manage janitorial services throughout the distribution center and hotels.
  • Contract Management: Review, recommend, and enact changes to ensure contractual compliance to budgeted accounts, including landscape, cafeteria, mat rental, pest control, snow removal, waste management, and fire system maintenance accounts.
  • Construction Projects: Manage the coordination of all construction projects and internal changes to facility, property, and equipment, ensuring timeline compliance, quality of work, and all safety standards are met.
  • Capital Expenditures: Generate capital expense requests, make recommendations, and coordinate projects using both internal and external resources, ensuring maximum use of energy management systems to reduce utility expenses.
  • Safety and Compliance: Active membership and participation with the safety committee to ensure strong partnership on all safety issues throughout the property.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of maintenance experience in a large distribution center and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Technically proficient in the care and maintenance of distribution conveyor and sortation systems, with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, machine controls, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Leadership Skills: 5 years of proven supervisory skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a warehouse environment, with continuous standing, walking, hearing, pushing, and pulling required.
  • Vision Requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
