We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Observation Attendant to join our team at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. As a Patient Observation Attendant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients while they are hospitalized.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safety and security support to patients while hospitalized, primarily by being aware, alert, and present, and alerting nursing staff of concerns.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and provide physical/therapeutic care consistent with the job title/role.
- Engage patients in activities according to the plan of care, including talking with, reading to, and providing companionship.
- Document patient information in the medical record as outlined by the Charge Nurse.
- Remain in constant attendance of the patient and arrange scheduled breaks with the RN.
- Adhere to all Safety Companion policies and maintain confidentiality of all information regarding patients.
- High School Diploma/GED
- BLS Certification required at the time of hire
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Preferred: 1+ years experience in direct patient care, Certified Nursing Assistant, Nurse Tech, or other clinical support staff related to inpatient hospital setting
