Job Summary:
Starr Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team in the Breast Center. As a Mammography Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography exams, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders to ensure accurate and efficient care.
- Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Assists physicians with performing interventional procedures, including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
- Prepares equipment and supplies, selects appropriate exposure factors, and implements safety standards.
- Participates in ensuring compliance with MQSA regulations and applicable accreditations.
- Positions patients and performs imaging procedures, biopsies, stereotactic, and special procedures.
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with image quality, taking appropriate action to resolve.
- Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
- Keeps current with BiRad and follows up on all patients.
- Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
- Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
- Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
- Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.

Requirements:
- Graduate of a program in mammography
- Current ARRT (R)(M) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
