About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our Preconstruction Team in Midlothian, VA.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing bid pricing from all vendors, reviewing documentation, communicating with vendors and contractors, and visiting job sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimator: Manage bid pricing from all vendors, review documentation, communicate with vendors and contractors, and visit job sites as needed.
  • Research the cost of items on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Complete take-offs using onscreen take-off software to gather information needed for bids.
  • Generate accurate, detailed, and timely estimates and purchase orders for all products.
  • Prepare and submit bid packages within the specified timeframe.
  • Conduct ongoing cost analysis to verify profitability and adjust estimating procedures when necessary.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and trade partners.
  • Manage all potential change orders.
  • Communicate with trade partners and team members throughout all stages of the project to ensure the project stays within budget.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and organized individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • At least one year of experience in construction estimating is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and navigate architectural plans and specifications.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines, and manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Considerable knowledge of construction processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent math and analytical skills.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
