Role Summary: The Purchasing department is on a mission to identify, acquire, and implement a cutting-edge eProcurement solution. This initiative aims to transition from manual operations to streamlined automated workflows. The new system will facilitate vendor registration, provide an electronic bidding platform, and include features for evaluation, negotiation, and contract management. Additionally, we seek a solution that offers comprehensive data analytics and reporting capabilities to enhance strategic planning and operational efficiency. We are in search of a seasoned professional to oversee this pivotal project through to its successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operational management of the project team within the scope of assigned projects.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate all facets of this intricate technology procurement and implementation project.
  • Ensure project goals and objectives are met on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage the project planning process, including resource identification, project plan development, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Develop and maintain all relevant project management documentation, including project plans, resource estimates, budgets, schedules, and status reports.
  • Act as a crucial liaison between the project team and vendors, ensuring effective communication and feedback.
  • Provide regular updates to the organization regarding project progress and status.
  • Collaborate closely with users to ensure the new solution aligns with business requirements.
  • Coordinate project team activities across various functional areas to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead and mentor assigned team members to foster a productive work environment.
  • Engage with business, administrative, and technical staff to meet customer needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4-year (Bachelor) or 2-year (Master) degree with a minimum of 24 months managing software implementation projects for local government entities.
  • Hands-on experience in project management (5+ years).
  • Proven track record in managing technology projects (3+ years).
  • Familiarity with traditional project management, agile methodologies, iterative processes, and ITIL frameworks.

Additional Information: This is a contract position with the potential for extension. Candidates must be able to commute to the office at least three days per week.
