Job Summary
As a Dental Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team. You'll be responsible for assisting dentists during procedures, preparing patients for treatment, and ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Verify patient identities, gather medical histories, document chief complaints, take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature), perform x-rays, prepare instruments, assist dentists during procedures, and provide post-treatment education.
- Operational Support: Maintain accurate records, manage inventory, order supplies, ensure equipment cleanliness and sterilization, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Dental Assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program, including dental radiology.
- Successful completion of Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certificate within 9 months of hire.
- 2 years of experience in a dental setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer software and electronic health record systems.
Certifications:
- Current/valid EFDA Certificate within 9 months of hire.
- Current/valid BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients effectively.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work various hours and locations as needed.
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
