Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field">
  • At least one year of experience in an acute care setting">
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure in Nursing">
  • BLS certification required">
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills">
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations">

Working Conditions

">

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. You will be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work environment is well-lit and ventilated, with frequent interruptions. Routine occupational exposure to infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, noxious odors, latex, and musculoskeletal injuries may occur.

Physical Requirements

You must possess physical capabilities to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Cope with mental and emotional stress associated with this position. Operate office machines safely and in accordance with hospital Safety Standards. Push patients on stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds from one area to another. Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting, repetitive motions, finger dexterity, talking, visual acuity, and performing components of Basic Life Support are essential functions of this job.
