Groomer Petsense

This role is responsible for providing professional pet grooming services to dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.

• Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction by providing top-notch pet grooming services.
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments to ensure seamless customer experience.
• Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and following up with reminders.
• Book appointments and greet pets as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Report any accidents or injuries to the Store Manager promptly.
• Follow established bathing and grooming procedures to maintain high standards.
• Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other necessary services to ensure pets look and feel their best.
• Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns and styles.
• Clip dog hair according to determined patterns, using electric clippers, combs, and shears.
• Comb and shape dogs' coats to achieve a polished look.
• Maintain a calm and soothing environment for pets, using verbal cues and non-physical techniques.
• Complete and maintain accurate customer and company forms.
• Properly fill out required grooming forms to ensure seamless communication.
• Adhere to safety rules and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
• Sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize cages, tubs, and other areas as needed to maintain high standards.
• Assist with store operations as needed, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

• Minimum 1-year experience in pet grooming or styling.
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats.
• Ability to provide own tools (clippers, blades, shears) or willingness to purchase required tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Petsense.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Compassion and ability to treat animals with care and respect.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and high-quality pet grooming services.
• Ability to lift and carry pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
• Stand and walk for long periods, maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
