• Collect and document patient vitals and concerns accurately in the medical record.
• Maintain clear and precise charting, including lab results.
• Facilitate communication between the physician and patients.
• Complete laboratory requisition forms and ensure specimens are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories according to the patient's insurance agreements.
• Oversee and replenish supplies and instruments in examination and procedure rooms.
• Sterilize instruments following OSHA regulations and maintain autoclave cleanliness as needed.
• Prepare clinical documentation as required.
• Schedule surgical procedures and provide patients with necessary pre-operative instructions, referring to the Front Office Coordinator or Office Manager for insurance verification.
• Provide support for surgical scheduling as needed.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
- Performs patient care duties tailored to the specific needs of patients across various age groups.
- Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, conducts comprehensive assessments on all patients and performs follow-up evaluations as per established protocols.
- Effectively assesses and manages pain, employing appropriate pain relief strategies and educating patients and families on pain management.
- Demonstrates knowledge of pharmacology and administers medications correctly based on patient age and clinical condition.
- Adheres to the five rights of medication administration to minimize errors.
- Adjusts care plans based on patient responses to treatment and evaluates the overall effectiveness of the care plan daily.
- Creates educational plans based on identified patient learning needs and assesses the effectiveness of the teaching, involving family members as appropriate.
- Assists physicians with procedures and performs technical tasks under the guidance of an RN.
- Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity, addressing their psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
- Engages professionally with patients and families, involving them in the care planning process.
Registered Nurse (RN):
- Enhances public relations for the department and healthcare facility by maintaining a professional appearance and participating in community service initiatives as requested.
- Effectively resolves patient and family concerns to achieve positive outcomes for all parties involved.
- Exhibits strong communication skills necessary for interacting with diverse age groups and cultures, maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships with colleagues, other department staff, and physicians, ensuring a harmonious work environment.
- Practices the five rights of medication administration diligently.
- Demonstrates effective time management skills to optimize productivity.
- Encourages teamwork and collaboration among staff.
- Seeks assistance and information from colleagues when necessary.
