Job Description

Vello Systems is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement test plans for network solutions incorporating virtualization, network management tools, and hardware components.
  • Conduct technical reviews of features to ensure feasibility and design.
  • Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders to reinforce messages consistent with direction.
  • Partner with managers to provide technical guidance and support.
  • Analyze metrics for quality trends before and after releases.
  • Develop and implement test plans that include performance assessment to ensure product scalability.
  • Review unit and acceptance tests and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in scoping optimization exercises and develop master test plans and strategies for complex projects.
  • Research and propose solutions to improve test quality.
  • Drive development efforts toward incorporating testability into products.
  • Anticipate roadblocks and shortcomings and solve them proactively.
  • Provide authoritative technical leadership within a program.
  • Drive solution/end-to-end test efforts and develop tools or processes to increase productivity.
  • Provide guidance to contributors of all technical roles and levels.
  • Apply knowledge of customer perspective to improve product quality.
  • Design complex test environments that can accommodate both QA test needs and customer use case testing.
  • Provide technical leadership for system-level tests, such as performance, scalability, reliability, and security effectiveness.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership at the cross-functional level.
  • Set and uphold quality standards for a product or technology.
  • Has advanced debugging and issue analysis skills, effective with customer escalations.
  • Ability to provide code review or white box testing.
  • Qualifications:
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented environment.
    • Extremely detail-oriented and hands-on.
    • Solid understanding of networking protocols.
    • Passionate about quality and customer experience.
    • Software engineering or field engineering experience, understanding of Product Life Cycle and Software Development Life Cycle.
    • Experience in software Quality Assurance.
    • Strong UNIX/Linux background preferred.
    • Network certifications preferred.
    • BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
