We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the State of Virginia. As a Registered Nurse in a correctional institution, you will provide professional nursing services, healthcare, and treatment to offenders in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess offenders' health problems and needs, prepare and administer prescribed medications, initiate emergency interventions, and provide first aid measures.
- Develop and implement medical/nursing guidelines and maintain accurate medical records.
- Provide training to staff and education to offenders about healthy lifestyles.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing program.
- Valid unrestricted Virginia RN license issued by the board of nursing or a multi-state compact license.
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers with current certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Experience working in a corrections or law enforcement environment, mental health settings, acute care, and/or community health settings is preferred.
