About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. As a Home Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting home safety evaluations with clients and/or caregivers to determine ways to improve safety and independence in the home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct home safety evaluations to identify potential hazards and develop personalized reports for clients and/or caregivers.
  • Generate reports outlining basic home modifications and activity modifications to improve safety and independence.
  • Educate clients/caregivers on basic fall prevention strategies and techniques.
  • Establish rapport and engage in collaborative discussion with clients and/or caregivers to meet their individual needs.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for gerontology and home modifications. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Illinois OT registration and licensure.
  • Availability for home safety checkups in the San Francisco area.
  • Experience working with the geriatric population (1-3 years experience preferred).
  • Effective communication and clinical reasoning skills.
  • A sixth sense for handling delicate conversations and a strong ability to empathize with clients.
