Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, the primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Inspector is to conduct thorough inspections of incoming and in-process electronic assemblies as well as mechanical components. Key responsibilities include supporting daily inspection operations, developing procedural guidelines, facilitating the adoption of ISO 9000 standards, and engaging in defect reporting and trend analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute inspections on incoming and in-process electronic assemblies and mechanical components.
  • Conduct source inspections at supplier facilities.
  • Verify that products are manufactured according to the latest applicable configuration documentation.
  • Compile and review data submission packages for final deliverables, including test data, inspection results, and Certificates of Compliance.
  • Draft Deficiency Reports (DRs) for issues related to hardware, software, and documentation.
  • Manage, control, and process non-conforming materials.
  • Certify and assist in maintaining ESD workstations and monitor employee compliance with ESD protocols.
  • Participate as a member of the Change Control Board (CCB) and Material Review Board (MRB), with interchangeable roles as needed.
  • Assist in tracking defects and evaluating trends to minimize recurrence rates, as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Generate Corrective Action Requests (CARs) for vendor quality issues.
  • Support the implementation of ISO 9000 standards and procedural development.
  • Assist in coordinating failure analysis initiatives.
  • Foster positive relationships and maintain a favorable business profile with customers, suppliers, colleagues, industry associations, government entities, and the local community.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or 2 years of post-secondary education with at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Certification in J-STD-001 or IPC-610-A is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for at least 6 months.
  • Ability to utilize micrometers and calipers effectively.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint and wiring diagram interpretation.
  • Candidate must be eligible to obtain a security clearance (secret), requiring U.S. citizenship and proof of citizenship.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • ISO 9000 "Lead Assessor" and "Implementation" certification and experience are advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, sketches, and test procedures to determine assembly and inspection methods for electrical and mechanical components.
  • Capable of accurately recording inspection data and producing concise reports of findings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience using mechanical and electrical measuring instruments (dial calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Adaptability to various job assignments with minimal supervision.
