We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician I to join our team at UTMB Health. As a Patient Care Technician I, you will provide basic technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.
Responsibilities- Provide basic technical assistance and supportive patient care to patients
- Assist with patient care activities, such as vital sign monitoring and documentation
- Participate in patient education and health promotion activities
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program, Medical Assistant program, Medical Corpsman program, EMT program, or UTMB Hospital Aide Training Program required
- Two years of experience in a direct patient care environment or certification as a MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire required
- Enrollment in a recognized School of Nursing and completion of the first semester of education which contains clinical concepts and health assessment or the equivalent required
- BLS certification
