About This Opportunity

CVCA Fairfax - Cardiology Specialist is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in the care of our patients, clients, and referring veterinarians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to our cardiologists
  • Assist with medical procedures, including surgical and interventional procedures
  • Monitor vital signs of anesthetized patients and administer medications as needed
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Communicate effectively with clients, referring veterinarians, and team members to ensure seamless care and service
  • Perform venipuncture, take radiographs, and perform electrocardiograms as needed
  • Prepare medications and prescriptions for dispensing, and ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Discharge patients and review treatment plans with owners
  • Assist with training new employees and maintain a positive, cooperative work environment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Minimum two years of experience as a veterinary assistant (desirable but not required)
  • Computer knowledge required, including MS Word, Excel, and Google Drive
