About the Role
This position will lead the efforts for schematic design and PS&E for highway projects for the Transportation division in the geographic area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project teams and efforts in the accomplishment of project/task assignments related to schematic design and PS&E for highway projects.
- Provide guidance and direction to project design team for various tasks within the scope of a project, which may include training and supervising project team.
- Lead multi-discipline support consultant teams in project development and design.
- Participate in the development of innovative design techniques, support tools, and project delivery methods.
- Present new ideas and techniques to clients and stakeholders.
- Support efforts in proposal development, project scoping as well as with client relationship development.
- Attend design review meetings and interact with clients with support staff.
Leadership and Qualifications
This role requires a strong leader who can provide guidance and direction to project teams. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university, and be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
Requirements
- 10 years' multi-discipline experience in schematic design and PS&E, with at least 5 years' managing projects from conception to completion; preferably in the DFW market.
- Ability to technically and professionally mentor members of project team.
- Exceptional ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
- Working knowledge of MicroStation, GeoPak, MS Excel and scheduling.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of employees in an organization.
- Must be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
