Position Summary:

The customs development teams play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our essential system of record applications, including CFIT. The Junior Software Engineer will focus on acquiring the skills necessary to analyze, design, and develop solutions that enhance the efficiency of our high-volume transaction applications.

A strong curiosity about logistics, combined with technical proficiency and a customer service mindset, is vital for success in this role.

This position is on-site and located in the greater Seattle, WA area. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate, as relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient in at least one Object-Oriented programming language
  • Strong skills in object-oriented design and development
  • Knowledge of Java concepts, including web services and database connectivity
  • Experience with object-relational mapping frameworks such as Hibernate
  • Ability to write SQL statements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Basic familiarity with Unix or Linux systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing user interfaces using JavaScript and other frameworks
  • Familiarity with Spring, Kafka, and Event-Driven Architecture
  • Understanding of XML and Microservices
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related experience
  • Experience with development tools such as Eclipse or IntelliJ, Git, Maven, and Nexus
  • Knowledge of the transportation and global logistics sector

Additional Information:

Expected Salary: $85,000 to $120,000
