Position Overview:
The Design Engineer plays a pivotal role within project teams, providing essential technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. This includes phases from initial sales concepts to design development, construction documentation, and implementation support.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead intricate projects and collaborate directly with clients and project teams to formulate solutions, establish budgets, and manage timelines.
2. Negotiate adjustments in deliverables and schedules, serving as a key escalation point for engineering challenges.
3. Conceptualize system designs while determining system requirements.
4. Offer technical expertise and coordination information to support system architecture and installation, focusing on audio, video, and control solutions.
5. Oversee the development of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and associated documentation.
6. Implement a detailed design documentation strategy based on established engineering practices, including creating detailed CAD markups for construction drawings.
7. Track the progress of engineering team tasks to ensure timely completion.
8. Generate comprehensive system descriptions, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and custom assemblies.
9. Conduct research to identify and recommend technology options for clients and projects.
10. Provide technical expertise for the creation and reconciliation of complete construction drawing packages, ensuring coordination with architects and other trades.

Physical and Travel Requirements:
This role may involve occasional travel by car and air, requiring a valid driver's license. Employees may need to utilize their own vehicles for travel, with mileage reimbursed.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate/Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office 365 is essential.
- Relevant certifications or training in DSP platforms and control systems are required.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in audiovisual technical systems design is necessary.
- AVIXA CTS certification is mandatory.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP routing and a solid understanding of project phases is essential.
