Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Claim Representative Trainee to join our team at Travelers Insurance. As a Claim Representative Trainee, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims related to property losses. Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and evaluate claims related to property losses, including determining coverage, damages, and liability.
  • Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses and utilize as a basis for written estimates and/or computer-assisted estimates.
  • Use innovative technologies to streamline the claims process and improve efficiency.
  • Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits.
  • Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other complex correspondence to insureds.
  • Properly assess extent of damages and manage damages through proper usage of cost evaluation tools.
  • Meet all quality standards and expectations per Knowledge Guides.
  • Maintain an effective diary system and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.
  • Handle files in compliance with state regulations, where applicable.
  • Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent, and all other internal and external customers/business partners.
  • Recognize when to refer claims to Special Investigations Unit and/or Subrogation Unit.
  • Perform administrative functions such as expense accounts, time off reporting, etc. as required.
  • Provide multi-line assistance in response to workforce management needs; including but not limited to claim handling for Auto, WC, GL, and other areas of the business as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of work or customer service-related experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership attitude and customer-centric response to all assigned tasks.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail ensuring accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Judgment/Decision making.
