Nurse Manager Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the growth and development of our nursing staff.
About the Role:- Assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective care for all patients and families associated with this patient care unit.
- Share 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operations with the Nurse Manager.
- Directly supervise nursing and technical personnel, assessing their proficiency, overseeing daily staffing and scheduling needs, evaluating staff performance, and counseling staff members when performance issues are identified.
- Participate in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions, serving as a role model and demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support the professional development of staff and the strategic goals of ChristianaCare.
- Identify and develop strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff, directing, mentoring, and supporting all levels of staff on the floor, and identifying potential future leaders and engaging in succession planning.
- Analyze administrative and operational functions, implementing appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing required; Master's required within 3 years.
- RN required; Progressive Care or Intensive Care experience preferred.
- 5 years of appropriate clinical and leadership experience.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Current Certification required; if selected, candidate will complete the professional certification within six months of start date.
