Position Overview: This role involves scrubbing for both fundamental and advanced surgical procedures in the Operating Room.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program or military training is mandatory.

· Prior experience in a hospital setting with proficiency in a range of surgical cases is preferred.

· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

· Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to comprehend and execute both written and verbal instructions.

· A strong focus on detail, accuracy, and thoroughness is necessary.

· Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, colleagues, and patients is crucial. Must be able to work effectively within a team.

· Strong customer service skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment are essential.

· Must demonstrate sound judgment, high integrity, and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure the sterility of instruments and facilitate the efficient flow of surgical operations.

· Select all necessary equipment and supplies for surgical procedures with precision.

· Assist in the preparation of the Operating Room for specific surgeries by accurately adhering to the preference card.

· Display a comprehensive understanding of surgical asepsis and identify any breaches in technique.

· Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and respond appropriately, efficiently providing the necessary instruments, sutures, and supplies.

· Commit to professionalism while completing all departmental competencies.

· Set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and solutions as required for each procedure.

· Utilize surgical drapes properly to cover patients, maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique throughout procedures.

· Assist in cutting sutures and tracking items such as sponges and needles as directed.

· Support the preparation and disposal of laboratory specimens as instructed and assist team members in cleaning the surgical area.
